The goal wasn't to generate more ideas. The goal was to leave the process with something I could actually claim online.

So I built a workflow around that reality:

• Start with a clear concept and a tone
• Generate brandable candidates that sound like something a human would say
• Check availability only on the names worth considering
• If the exact domain is taken, navigate to strong alternatives that keep the same feel

That "navigate" part is the difference. Instead of forcing you to restart, Haystack helps you keep your core idea and land on an ownable version: a smart modifier, a tighter variant, or the right extension.

That's also how Haystack got its own name. I wanted something that captured the real problem: finding an available domain can feel like searching for a needle in a haystack. The tool helped me iterate toward a name that felt right and matched the promise.

Haystack is built for everyday people building a brand, launching a project, or starting something new, and it's going to keep improving as we learn what helps users find names they can actually own.
